On the 'why didn't Hershel get sick' thing...Some people just don't react to certain things and others do. I mean, how can I have the worst immune system in the world and my sister vomiting for three days on end from the stomach flu while I wait on her hand and foot and I never get sick at all? When other times I can get something from someone that I never even touched while they were sick. (or else it's Captain Tripps and Hershel is immune! Mmmmm, TWD/The Stand is also a lovely thought).

That Guy Who Was In That Thing: Netflix keeps reccing it to me and they usually don't fail me with their recs, but I kind of laughed it off because one of The Guys happens to be Bruce Davison and I'm like, "He's not 'that guy from that thing...He's Bruce Fucking Davison, daaamn." And isn't one of the other guys Timothy Omundson, which, omg, he's Tim Omundson! Clearly I know too many character actors because I go much farther down the pole when I say "Hey, it's...that guy!" Netflix keeps reccing it though, so I'll probably end up watching eventually.
HAHHAHAA I KNOW I KNOW. But! I did write 10k of J2 in the Walking Dead world ... I have to clean it up and figure out what to do with it. It was a total whim after last week's episode.
I suppose it does make sense, though it seems a lil more extreme when EVERYONE who was in that cellhouse got sick but Hershel didn't after getting spit on LOL.

I felt pretty well the same way! I knew everyone from something and had a pretty good handle on them/their careers. But again, I think people like us know them from more cult-like TV shows or from seeing SO MUCH TV in our lives, ya know? Like, my parents would recognize most of those people but not specifically know each of them ... and they watch a lot of stuff, just don't always pick up on the actors as much as others.
I would say, based on how I felt, it was enjoyable and interesting - not SUPEROMGAMAZING.
ETA: I FINALLY STARTED WATCHING STALKED! I somehow thought it was smarter to watch it on my phone, on the train home, so I was surrounded by people ... IDK, but it's not AS interesting to me as some other shows have been. The first episode was more gripping, but the few others to follow wasn't AS great.
Unrelatedly, yet related to things we discussed that night at dinner, did you see the new Major Crimes? I feel wishywashy on how the case panned out, and also on Choice #3 for Rusty.

Valid, yeah. I mean, Bruce Davison was in the X-Men movies, which I've seen a bazillionity times, so...yeah. My sister and I made this game (we made the cards for it and everything) that is basically like 6 Degrees Of Separation with famous movie stars, where you pull two cards out and have to connect those people to each other in the least amount of steps. It's fun, but no one likes to play with us because we know too many of 'that guy' and are able to work through rare connections, using guys like Bruce and Timothy Omundson and stuff. But YOU...you'd be a worthy opponent!

It all kind of blended together for me, since I watched the entire first season in one straight run. But there were some of the stories that were really fucked up and that made the other ones seem less interesting somehow. I mean, the one where the lady got killed was transfixing but then some of the others were just, "And then he called again and I wrote it down in my log. And then he called again...." S2 is up now on streaming and I've added it back to my playlist.

No, I'm still not watching it. After S1 aired, so many people were talking about how great it was that I decided to watch it, especially for the Rusty and Sharon storyline. But S1 is NOT available through Netflix streaming, which I should have known, because it's TNT and TNT doesn't ever put their shows up for streaming. Boo, TNT. So I still haven't caught up. Once S2 is over, they may rerun the first season in one of their 2am slots and then hopefully I can catch up that way. (this is a good reminder though to put in my Tivo lineup!)
