anteka posted The State Levels of Fandom. I think I'm the Jensen Ackles of baby animals, Y/Y?

Who is the celebrity who caters to the fans and has a hard time doing real work? Because THAT'S who I really am, considering how much you all enable me. Dangit.

I do love y'all :-D

Oh, this is fun. I knew some fair dinkum Tom Cruises in Stargate fandom, definitely. Although I'm not sure she's got an analogy for the one that bothers me a lot; terribly prolific, not very bright, more chutzpah than ability who muscles their way in everywhere because they have no insight or self-awareness whatsoever. Maybe Rob Schneider? Ha made some very derogatory comments about an Aussie actor one time and most of Australia said - huh? *You're* criticising an *actor*?

I knew one fan I thought of as a Paul Newman, but even though she was always gracious, in the face of incredible provocation, I'm sure those folk who were baiting her wouldn't have recognised her as such. So I wonder if PNs ever exist? Someone so classy that it doesn't matter what view they hold in fandom?

Kanye West? HAH.

RE: PN
I have no idea, but I don't know a lot of people in fandom outside whoever's already on my journal. I couldn't even tell you who the big namers are, so yeah, I'm clueless and in a class of my own :-D

Oh, yes, got no clue in this fandom. It's just whoever's come by my LJ. But I used to be - hmm, nearly said balls deep - not sure that's what I'm looking for, but whatever - deep in Stargate in fandom and Due South fandom and wow. Some of the folk there? Aieeee. If I'm in a fandom I want to discuss, but mostly I want to celebrate. I want squeeing whenever possible! I want golden lining when it's not. But I've come to learn that the anonymity of the net attracts some stuff that really shouldn't be let out into the light.

I'm having a throughly enjoyable back and forth with elise_509 on my LJ. Many words have died in vain as we argue our respective POV (I'm Dean, she's Sam. It's complicated). But it's all in good spirit and I love that.

I still need to go back and read those two posts so I can properly put my two cents in :-D
