OKAY OKAY OKAY. So, as evidenced by the crazily long copfic ... you know I love me a good cop/murder story. My heart has been empty since Law & Order: Original Recipe was cancelled (sigh). Chicago Code sucked on so many levels (least of all was getting Chicago details wrong *eyeroll*) and The Wire and The Shield, while wonderful, are over (double sigh).
BUT WE ARE SAVED.
I gave it a chance just 'cause and then was blown away with the tone, attitude, cinematography, characterizations, and the way they pull the cases together. Mario Bello is GREAT as this gritty female cop in a man's world but beyond that, the cases are interesting and off the map ... they're not always obvious, but they're also not being tore up with whiplash twists (like L&O: SVU). Going even further, I LOVE seeing all the other cops interact with each other and with her. It's such a wonderful new addition to the long list of cop shows ...
BUT! Word has it that it's on its way to the chopping block. If you like cop stories AT ALL, please, please, please give this show a chance. This week, it's Prime Suspect week on NBC and they're re-airing the first four episodes each night this week at 10/9pm EST/CST.
GIVE IT A CHANCE AND GIVE IT SOME RATINGS :DDD
