Holy mother of film
So, recently I have been busy with class and work, blah blah blah. But, the 'very near recent' has spawned a few interesting things.
First, I have begun to produce a short film. I have taken on a Writer/Director and will be doing his short. Erin, said writer/director, is really cool, loves all the avant-garde flicks, kung-fu and Brtish television shows as well. Basically, I get to be the studio executive. My jobs for this project include being Executive Producer, Line Producer, Director of Photography, and most likely an Editor. Tons of work. We are currently casting for it, and are getting denied left and right from FAU to use rooms to hold the auditions. So it seems like a nice upstairs breezeway session it will be!
Second, I have joined the FAUFP club (FAU Film Production Club) and we are beginning shooting of our first short film on March 8th-13th. I have been selected to be Senior Editor on that project, and will also be doing either a documentary 'Making Of' short, or being a boom op or something silly like that. If anyone is interested in working in film, I urge you to join! We will be entering a film festival, most likely the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival. Our budget for this short is $1450, so it will kick ass. It is titled "re:percussions". Very dark, so it should be interesting.
Third, I have been having a great time delving deep into the psychie of a split-personality victim. Yes, I am refering to Zaffa. I can actually feel his change now, from the once pleasant half-elf to the current neutrotic calamity. The only thing I would like to change with our current gaming is I think that we need to roll more. We never use NPC reactions, and never roll to change moods, etc. That is probably my biggest gripe, so it ain't much.
