Dufgall is UBER Happy!
OH MY GOD! this past saturday was THE BEST Birthday ive ever had!
Not only do i get to spend it with the friends that i love most, I was surrounded by people that actually accept me.
I got Isabella (Rebecca) to sing me a song. GODS she has a beautiful voice. I occasionally need a good healthy dose of beauty, and i'm not talking about the Pure Physical Aspect, although she does Qualify there. The beauty I speak of is the Beauty that comes from within. I am speaking of Music that will bring you to tears. I am speaking of Kindness that never ends. I am speaking of putting up with the Annoyance that is Dufgall (explanation to follow in another post).
While the song was the highlight of my day. I guess the close second would be Hearing this:
"Their Stellar Highnesses would like to call forth Dufgall Vinaldasson"
Yeah... I got an award. I was sitting in my chair Sleepily attending court when i hear my name called. Being the Legionaire at heart, "Oh SHIT!," popped into my head. I get to the aisle and Herr Friedrich von Wolfstein has a death grip on my left arm and Richard Stewart of Saint Andrews has a good grip on my right. They almost Literally carry me down the aisle. They remind me to bow and then kneel. Me being the unworthy one i am(or so i tend to feel) coupled with What do i do running through my head I avoid the pillows and knelt on the edge of the floor cover that is in front of the thrones.
The Princess starts telling about how our first meeting was a unique one and continues on with how i have no home group but i go to what events i can and basically make them my groups helping out everywhere... All i can do is nod silently. Then Baron Stephan of Durham Begins to read my scroll. I fight back tears and fail, while also trying not to Grin my ass off. The MOST HUMBLING moment of my life so far was when Radu placed the necklace bearing the token of the Marble Chalice around my neck.
For the rest of the court and feast i am trying to figure out what i have done to deserve this award. All i ever do is sit around and goof off. I try to help when i can, and all i ever do is what i feel is expected of me... By others of by my honor. But, as Isabella told me, "If you thought you deserved it, you wouldn't," so i guess it's mine to keep. On the Way to where i was staying I had a death grip on my token half hoping it was real half expecting it to be a joke.
How often does one get their FIRST award on their birthday? I did. and it was ONE HELL of a Birthday gift.
