Got this exciting news from
gealach_ros , thank you<333
This makes my day~YAY~!
Despite Island, Parked is another film which I've been highly expecting for. Not only Colin gets involved in both of the films, but the stories themselves are also very interesting.
Synopsis of Parked
“Sometimes the person you least expect can help you find your way home.” Fred Daly lives a quiet, lonely life in his car. But that changes when Cathal arrives in a little yellow car and becomes his neighbour. A dope-smoking 21 year old with positive attitude, Cathal seems determined to make Fred sort his life out. And it works. As Cathal’s infectious energy rubs off on him, Fred modifies his car into a home, beats the welfare system and makes a friend in Jules, an attractive music teacher who lives alone nearby. But Fred struggles with his pride to tell Jules about his ‘home’ as Cathal’s life is threatened by his escalating drug habit. As they grow closer, the influence of these three outsiders on each other will change their lives. PARKED is a moving, uplifting film about friendship, trust and the need to feel truly at home.
Colin's Cathal in Parked
As I first glanced at the pic, this kind of Coln---hoodie and Tee inside, coat-clad, jeans matching with boots--- gives me a strange and odd feeling, especially the sunglasses on his head! I fail to imagine what like when Colin puts on this pair of glasses, Men in Black? Oh, maybe I'm still in Merlin bubble, or literally this Cathal is beyond what I've imagine of a dope-smoking chap? I mingled him with Jimmy, another drug-addiction role he played in A Prayer for My Daughter.
Colin's Jimmy in A Prayer for My Daughter
Totally different, huh? Both roles are in early 20s and rely on drugs, while you can tell obvious difference between these two characters. And the answer is what I've underlined in the synopsis. Cathal has more positive aspects than Jimmy does, plus, Cathal is not a catamite(word quoted from a commentator who used it to describe the role Jimmy) but Jimmy is. So, before this, the portrait of my Cathal is more punk and emo(my Jethro addiction<3). Now we've got the real Cathal as well as another Colin~
And an interesting coincidence piques my curiosity.
See the bruise on Cathal/Colin's one side cheekbone?
Why Colin's roles are always injured? Engaged in a fight? Like Calum?
Colin's Calum in Island
Calum has scars on his canthus and nose. *fondle lovely Calum*
Still the names, except role Merlin, Jimmy and Vernon, Colin has got two character names opened with letter C in a row.(Colin-->Calum--->Cathal) What if he gets all the letter-C-opened-name roles in his performing career, will it be miraculous?~ XDDDD~
Colin, you really are an incredible guy !
LOVE HIM~
