I came across your post while searching for others reactions and HOLY SHIT did you perfectly pin down how I feel. This was so utterly disappointing. Divergent and Insurgent were just so good and this was just a crap shoot of all of the ideas she had for ending this series rolled into one. This was literally like 12 plot lines. She should have just written 5 books and not made us all want to kill her over the utter crap that was this book.
While I was okay in the beginning and even marked a couple of quotes (and the letter to VI from IV!!!! died!!!), this book was crap. Uriah dying: no. Tris dying: no. Christina getting some BS grief response: no. Evelyn and Marcus coming to that easy of an agreement: no. The government just accepting that everyone in the compound changed their minds over night: no. There were so many moments where I literally just said WHAT THE FUCK?!
While I will admit, I liked Matthew. And was pretty pumped when Amar was alive. She should have done more with that. Not just said it and moved on.
I could rant for days on this book and the happy/sad/pissed feelings that I have. Thank you for expressing how we all feel. I wish I could go back and unread this book. Like the epilogue to Deathly Hallows.
