senior good bye

I have and will be saying a lot of goodbyes in the next few weeks. I have said them to old friends I have lost and will be saying them to people who I have come to know and become close to in the last four years of my life. We as a Christian community have also said our goodbye to the Pope and have welcomed a new one in. Saying goodbye is sometimes very hard, I know it is for me. However I also know that it is also an exciting time because after you say goodbye to people and thing, you say hello to new people and things.
Goodbyes may seem like a final thing, however many times it is the beginning of new and different things in life. Many times no matter who we say goodbye to, we begin a new chapter of life. Whether, it is becoming more aware of the people around us, or starting a new life somewhere different. These new chapters also can help us learn who we are and where we are going in our faith.
Goodbyes are not forever either. Jesus let his disciples know that he was leaving but he would see them again. The same is true for all of us, many of us are saying goodbye now, however this is not a permanent thing. We will meet again in the kingdom of heaven with the others that have come before and will come after us.
May we remember that even though we are taken away from the people that we love and care about on this earth, we will meet with them in the kingdom of heaven. And that no matter what we do after we leave this place we need to keep in mind the faith that we gained here and continue to build on it.
James reminds us to practice faith by opening the book by saying…”2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trails of many kinds 3becuase you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perservance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (James 1:2-4)
As I move from this place onto larger things I hope that my persist faith will help me though whatever changes I might have to make.

So that was my senior good-bye for chapel. It went well. My parents did not get to see it because the restuarant they were at did not do day light saving time. So they came in late. I was kind of upset, but I know that they wanted to be there. Plus, I guess my mom cried all the way home in the car. So that makes up for it. I love them and I know they wanted to be there. Plus, my friend Dana was there and she brought her boyfriend with her. So that was nice. I have missed Dana.
