My eyeballs are falling out.
It's really late and I should go to sleep soon because I have to wake up in about eight hours for my weekly work-out. (I ate like a pig today; tomorrow I'll burn off a few calories).
I've been browsing the web for ficcies and, hey, two things I'd like to snort at.
1) (Summary I just found on ffnet)
an angel/cordy fic, as though she and xander weren't together, and he he wanted her instead of buffy
Urgh. Don't you love it when they dismiss everything the canon brought to us? Not doing any good for my eyeballs or my brain. (I like C/A. But that's just wrong. *stares*)
2) General remark-- what IS it with romance fics and the ever-traditional "my (insert name). No, wait, when did (insert name) become mine?"
If you read fic, I'm sure you read that one many times, just like I have. Character goes into jealous-thinking mode, makes a mental claim over the person they crush on, then go all denial over it. What's UP with that pattern? (Yeah, I tend to not like the romantic cliches that don't really make sense)
OOOH.
I'm doing this debate on Monday and I could really use some help.
I'm supposed to be against cosmetic surgeries and have all sorts of arguments (sociologic, politic, scientific, juridic, economic). Except that I don't really mind it and the few sites I found aren't very good at giving actual arguments. (Plus, I often get sidetracked)
So, if anyone has any good point to share?
