Things are gradually getting better for me. Been kinda depressed here lately, which is the norm, but I can't find anything to be seriously depressed over. Thursday I went and got my TB/Tetnus shots and succeeded in not throwing up or passing out, though we did have to drag the trashcan and place it inbetween my knees. Lately I've been cutting posters out of magazines and printing quotes off the internet to place in various sections of my dorm room. Orientation was today and yesterday- I totally enjoyed myself except ppl there are a lot different than I expected. The upperclassmen who advised us were really nice but the new freshman were all scared and didn't do much talking. I did talk to a girl from Virginia Beach, and another girl from somewhere. Then there was my hairdresser's daughter who I had met before. I was just glad that Ashley, JT, and Mel were there. I am, however, excited to meet all these new ppl and INCREDIBLY hott guys that will be on campus! Today I picked classes for the semester and I am pretty happy. I don't have to take any math class during my whole 4 years of college unless I change my major, which right now is psychology. I placed in Spanish 102 but they must have had pity on me or something cuz I just randomly clicked answers on the placement test. I asked if I could switch to beginners spanish... they said it was unethical but I explained my spanish education and they are willing to help. I just have to remember to talk to my professor. So far this semester I have Western Civ, my LART, and Spanish (unless I can place in beginners spanish later on) on Mon, Wed, and Friday. I only have my LART on Mondays though, and only for an hour. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have Intro to Psyc, my English class which I think is a composition class (thumbs DOWN) and HOPEFULLY a theater class. I may be forgetting one. I have a total of 16 hrs, and the requirement is 12 hrs. Not overly stressful. Friday we had *Casino Night* and I won $39,280 in fake money by playing blackjack. It wouldn't have been as high except our dealer didn't take our money when we lost. We then had an auction and bought UVA-Wise items with our money. I spent all of mine on a long-sleeve shirt and a boggin. I had to bet against a black guy and he kept trying to top my bet. It took FOREVER to win it but I was happy! I gave him the boggin lol because I only wanted a shirt. A curly-headed guy in front of me won a wind thingie and a leather wallet. He handed me the wind thingie lol, so I now have something to hang in my dorm room. Last night I went to my first bachellorette party and I have to say... me and Nina trying to put condoms on a banana is the funniest thing ever... that and trying to get our *weenies* into a jar. I wasn't really in the mood though because things have been stressful on the homefront, but when is it not? Mom and I had a discussion today and I got her to see my side of things- I think. That allows me to take a breath. Tomorrow is my last day at work *does a happy dance* and I just really don't want to go. I have to in order to get the paycheck I left in my cubby. Yeah I'm the smart one. Friday morning my flight leaves for Florida. I think I am staying the night with sis Thurs. night, except she got some cats in her house now and dad is not thrilled about me spending the night there with the chance that my eyes will swell shut and I'll have an asthma attack. Shawna says that they have not been in the guest bedroom cuz the door stays shut, so I may be able to sleep in there. That's all I can think of to talk about, except adding that guys totally suck and they gossip more than we do.
