Guess who was arrested for prescription drug fraud today?!
Rush Limbaugh!
"Not Rush Limbaugh, the conservative talk-radio host who has repeatedly denounced drug culture, saying things like, 'Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country.' Surely you jest!" you exclaim, aghast?
One in the same! I reply. Rush turning himself in to the authorities marks the conclusion of a two-year-plus drug fraud investigation. Rush was accused of "doctor-shopping," or going to several doctors at one time for the same prescription pain-killers.
Limbaugh's drug abuse makes him just one in a long line of dysfunctional right-wingers. Bill O'Reilly, FOX News host of The O'Reilly Factor and infamous for his degrading treatment of any guest who disagrees with him, was sued for sexual harassment. Oral Roberts, a prominent televangelist in the 1980s, requested $8 million from his followers or, he claimed, God would "call him home." And of course there's Marion "Pat" Robertson, who is the source of arguably the longest list of questionable quotes any one person could say. (My personal favorite is, "[feminism is a] socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.") Not to mention, there's Duke Cunningham, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Ken Lay, Tom DeLay, Jack Abramoff, Bob Novak....
Here they are, the people representing 51% of America. Morally upstanding citizens they are too, yelling "Sinner!" left and right. And it's people like my own grandmother, who has not the keen mind she once possessed, who support these fools. She used to listen to Rush Limbaugh on the radio everyday, and when my dad tells her what a liar and hypocrite Limbaugh is, she retorts, "Well now I don't think that's true!" That's the granny equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and going, "LALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALA."

Majority of America, please don't make the same mistake you did last time. Vote for non-Conservatives this year. Thank you.
