Opening the vent

I had my first experience of a drive-thru (we're too lazy to spell it in full) fast-food establishment (Dunkin' Donjitos, to be precise) last weekend while in Maine. (In my defence, I thought it was drive-thru-only, but it was pointed out to me, all too late, that it was a walk-in as well.)

I felt guilty afterwards, because I know that the people who frequent drive-throughs tend to be the same breed for whom putting their shopping trolley in the car-park depository ten yards away is too much of a hardship. (There were already five scattered around the Stop & Shop car park at 7.30 this morning. They were all left within five bays of the building itself, of course, because parking any further out would require their oxygen tanks to be taken out of their cars and strapped to their backs.)

What's more, I had to repeat my order for two coffees three times.

Oh well, I'll try anything once.
