Here I come on my magical bike IT'S A GOOD BIKE

So I'm updating from my new laptop. My mom's friend's husband is a computer engineer and got a new computer to help a client and then didn't need it anymore so he sold it to us for cheap. It's real nice but of course there's some work to be done. I'm loving owning a laptop though.

This weekend has been amazing. It started on Friday when I got off work real early because it was supposed to start heavy thunderstorming and paint + rain doesn't mix. And we didn't really feel like being struck by lightning. Then I went to the MVA and got my Provisional's off. The MVA actually didn't suck as usual; I went to the MVA express which is smaller so less wait and I listened to my iPod the whole time and rocked out. After that, I went and got my haircut which I have mixed feelings about. I always hate my hair after haircuts and this one is no different. That night I went out with Emily, Amy, and Alisa to O'Donnells and got a delicious chicken Caesar salad and then we went back to Amy's and watched TV and such. After that, I went over to Mike's and slept over, which was a good time though we didn't seem to have the best of luck that night *ahem*.

The next morning I woke up at 6:30 and picked up Scott Leighty, Anna/Gabby Fish and we went to Starbucks and then to Live 8 in Philadelphia. You know, no big deal. Except it was one of the best experiences ever. We drove up listening to Rent and Buffy among other things and parked. We took the shuttle bus to the El (or as we know it, the metro) which took us right through the ghetto. And I mean the fucking ghetto. It was pretty depressing and mixed with the fact that I was going to Live 8, it really made me want to do more social work in my life. I'm seriously considering Peace Corps after college for a year or two. Anyway, we get to the El and take that to City Hall, which is right in the middle of the city. Very cool to just come out in the middle of a big city. The concert strip was set down Ben Franklin Parkway, which is just a huge straight line with the Museum of Art at the end. So we walk from City Hall and then we (stupidly) decide to get up close. This leads to many people being pissed off that we were stepping on their blankets, walking, standing, or getting water. So we decide to get the fuck out and somehow find our out of the thick of the crowd and find a real nice patch of grass right across the street from the thick of it, under a tree, right next to a water station, and we could see the screen pretty clearly. As we found our way out, a British band called the Kaiser Chiefs (I believe) opened the concert. Throughout the course of the day, we saw (in no particular order) Linkin Park, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Will Smith, Dave Matthews Band, Black Eyed Peas, Def Leopard, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Destiny's Child, Kanye West, Bon Jovi, and probably more that I'm forgetting. On the walk out from the concert we heard Sarah McLaughlin and Maroon 5. Hands down, the best there was Will Smith. He opened with "Gettin' Jiggy With It" then brought out Jazzy fuckin Jeff and they did "Switch" together. During "Switch" he brought out a drumline and had these cool dancers. Then the best thing ever happened. He said "I know I have some fans in the audience today, but this is the real test." Then Jazzy started playing the beat of "The Fresh prine of Bel-Air" and then mixed it with the "Switch" beat. Then almost everyone in the audience sang the theme and on the parts with no words he put in the "hey-y" from "Switch". It was seriously one of the coolest things ever. Then he closed with "Summertime," just because he's fucking awesome. The whole time we weren't looking at the stage/screens because people we weren't interested in were performing, we laid on our blanket and played cards. I even fell asleep for a little. Oh and the people next to us were smoking a joint. Not even hiding it. It was fucking awesome. It was seriously the most random day, but also one of the best and most chill. Probably some of the best company ever as well. On the way home we listened to a lot of different music, and it was good times.

Alright well today's my dad's birthday so I gotta go do birthday stuff/see if the Tour de France is on OLN. For some reason I love watching it. Peace out homies.
