So my mom left a box of stuff here at my apartment -- it's all stuff that was mine when I was a little kid. In this box are my third and sixth grade report cards.
My third grade teacher hated me for no reason. I remember that shit vividly.
So I'm looking at my grades, and one six-week grading period, she gave me all A's but I got a C in effort... in SPELLING. WTF? So I made A's on my tests, clearly, but I got a C in effort? Why did my mom not raise hell about that? Maybe she did and I just don't remember. But how can you get an A in the class itself, but a C for effort? "You're making A's on your tests, but TRY HARDER ANYWAY." What a bitch.
