so I finished(almost) my 5000 word paper and 40 min presentation today. Present it tomorrow and hoping to visit some friends. That means YOU people. Next week is winter break and I can't wait to get the hell out of michigan. I'm getting cabin fever. Need to go outside and enjoy it.
My birthday celebration was great and valentines day was wonderful. Claire got me a DS and a couple of games including Final Fantasy III(the real FFIII not FFIII from snes days.) I'm am surprised at how much fun that game is. Brings me back to the days when you got to actually play Final fantasy not just watch it(Fuck FFX). Her parents got me castlevania portrait of ruin which should be sweet. I didn't even ask for any of this. very awesome birthday.
This semester I've read a couple of books and would like to reflect on them.
1. I'm a Stranger Here Myself. Bill Bryson. Not that great actually. Some really funny chapters but there were chapters where I didn't give a shit about what he was talking about. I think I'll stick to books where he actually travels and does something.
2. Walk in the woods again. Bill bryson. I love this book so I read it again in like 2 days. Hilarious and makes me want to go hiking.
3. The Ruins by the guy who wrote a simple plan. Amber got me this book for christmas and it sucked balls. Lame B movie horror plot with very little action or suspense or adventure. I ended up skipping whole chapters by the end.
4. Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama. LOVED IT. Easy to read, very good ideas, and vey interesting. He's got my hopes despite his slim chances to win the nomination. I think I'm going to try and read some other politicians books later. Rudy Guilaini's book was really good too.
coming up next... The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. Should be a good one.
