2007 in review.

Dec 11, 2007 22:12

I only do this once in a blue moon (literally) so read up.

1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before? Pissed my mother off so much that she refused to talk to me, dyed my hair black, made money by just being pretty, did not reside with my parents for any amount of time, spent a summer living on my own.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I do not make new years’ resolutions. But as far as vaguely new year resolution like changes, I feel I’ve become a healthier eater (at least in the limiting junk food intake) and my alcohol intake has decreased to basically nothing. Oh yeah, smoking is bad for you (It makes me barf like Sandra Dee). I did fail in sticking to nurturing my creative, emotional and spiritual side (But one of those I can’t do by myself so ::shrug::) I’ll probably take up console gaming again.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
If they’re not coming to mind now, then they mustn’t be that close.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not yet and hopefully not for some time.
5. What countries did you visit?
None. Not even Canada.
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
As typical as it sounds, a healthy romance even if it isn’t forever. Health insurance. Some direction.
7. What date(s) from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? July 15th; the snub took months to get over. June 17th; I saw an even darker side to a tainted love and was too scared to do anything about it.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Trusting my instinct and judgement rather than my mother’s advice.

9. What was your biggest failure? Getting too distracted chasing love. I had a good productive groove going until it showed up to tempt me.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Aside from plantar’s wart and a cold or two, nope. I’m a tough little boy!

11. What was the best thing you bought? My laptop. Even if I loathe Vista.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Tony and Dave for being my advocates (now I can make drinks and my wenching gig is so much easier for it), Dad for helping me through my car stuff and actually listening to me.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? The flakes of July 15th, many bar patrons, many callers, inconsiderate men, me for completely ignoring politics all year.

14. Where did most of your money go? Oh, who knows? Probably rent as usual. I scarcely care right now anyway.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? The possibility of requited love.

16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2007?
Tough for some reason. Let’s go with “Don’t Give Up - The Noisettes”
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer.
iV. Anything else? More sure of myself, more worried, less faithful, acting way too “adult,” I dream less and when I do it’s pretty mundane.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Exploring.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Wallowing (like every year.)

20. How will you be spending Christmas? The usual. Father’s side on the eve and the day is immediate family I think.

20. How will you be spending New Years? No idea. I’m hoping for some kind of party or non-bar gathering.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
I might have.
23. How many one-night stands?
None. Just like last year unless you count kissy time.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Heroes
25. A)Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? Hate? No. Find annoying/maddening? Yes.
b) Did you make up with anyone you hated this time last year? Yeah, Brien (well, I stopped hating him long ago but we cool now).
26. What was the best book you read? Tim and Pete.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Prozzak (Thanks Matt)
28. What did you want and got? Hhmmm. Tough. The only thing that falls into the want category that I actually got was a new laptop so I could play WoW. It figures my interest in the game lasted no more than 2.5 months.

30. What was your favorite film of this year? Deathproof.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? 24. Casey and Aimee and I went to Coney Island at 12 and Main in Royal Oak. I order fried foods with ranch just because I know Aimee hates it. XD

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? A few good lays with someone I connect with.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007? Boy’s shirts and women’s jeans fit so goooooood.

34. What kept you sane? The basic accomplishment of supporting myself and not feeling responsible for other people.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Neil Gaiman.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? None as stated before my attention has been very localized this year.

37. Who did you miss the most this year? Misty!

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007: Everyone’s just winging it, so don’t be too hard on yourself.

39. Who was the best new person you met? Matt, Jenica and Ali! Credit to the late DNA for his books, which are what brought us together.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year?
Don’t give up Don’t give up
Don’t give up Don’t give up
Don’t give up Don’t give up
Don’t give up Don’t give up
