“Savory Thoughts”
I thought about a lot today,
All the things in the world,
All the things i can't change.
I realized one important thing,
One very small detail,
One very significant point.
People want things to shift,
They want to alter and change,
They never want life to stay.
I thought about a lot today,
All the things that i could change,
All the things i would not.
The conclusion was quite simple,
I knew it all along,
I knew loving wasn't wrong.
People will push and they will pull,
To get what they can't take,
To get what they shouldn't.
So this crazy thing we have now,
Lets not let it escape,
Lets finally just stay.
May we accept these moments here,
Hold them so very close,
Hold out for the future.
