As far as I can tell (although I haven't really read much about him), Nostramadus's predictions were written so loosely that you can read all sorts of things into them, and you can read them after something happens and make it fit with something he wrote. It's a lot like the Bible, in my opinion. People just interpret it to say what they want it to say.
Logically, I don't think it's possible to have knowledge of future events, although I have had really strong hunches/feelings about things that would be really hard to predict or know. Those events were probably just coincidences, but it does make you wonder a bit about the supernatural. But enough about that, it's sort of personal. In general, I think you can make predictions that will be reliable (to varying degrees) based on past observations, statistical data, laws of physics, typical human behavior patterns, etc. That's not really a ground-shaking statement.
