"If you voted for Obama, I hope you never vote again."
Not a chance, sir. Not a chance. You obviously don't know me. I'm Kati, and I've looked forward to voting since I was 4 or 5, when I accompanied my parents to the polls. It was around that age that I calculated my first election (2004) would be a presidential one and that I'd be 18 just a few weeks before Election Day. I was thrilled.
I believe in democracy, and I believe in participating in our democracy. It's a belief I firmly hold, and even more, it's ingrained in my personality. As most who know me personally have noticed a few times, I, uh, like to talk. I like to express my opinions. It only follows that I'd want to voice my convictions through the mode of elections. I care deeply about my community and my country, and voting is one way to try to make a difference. (So is campaigning.)
"I hope you never vote again."
Oh, I will.
