"He took his life." Are there sadder words in the English language?
(A family friend- a friend of my sister's- died last week. We didn't know how he died, but it was obviously already very sad. We thought it might have been diabetes-related, since his obit said donations could be made to a juvenile diabetes foundation. He was a wonderful man: kind, funny, enthusiastic, thoughtful. When we went to his visitation yesterday, we found out from his family that he had killed himself.)
(PS- I doubt anyone who reads this journal knew him, so don't worry that it was someone you knew.)
