I consider myself a die-hard winter person but this shit's getting ridiculous. Freezing cold, snow falling every other day, ice storms, crazy winds...it just isn't very enjoyable to be outside.
Good news is the semester is over. It took a lot out of me. I get a week off of work after tomorrow, too. Gives me time to pick up the guitar again. I need to wax and retune (maybe even restring) the damn thing after it's been sitting around for so long. Or I could work on my large stack of video games I've yet to complete.
Been extraordinarily tired and sleepy lately. Don't know what it is. Probably the obscenely cold weather. I feel like going to bed right now and it isn't even 7pm yet. Maybe I'm getting old.
I realized this past week I need to build my collection of Sonic Youth albums, which is annoying since I rarely find their shit in most stores. Used to be I could find anything from them at Tower Records when I didn't care enough to buy it. Sucks that they went out of business...
Found a big stack of my old CDs from way back in the basement this past week, which means I've been listening to a lot of music on my brand new Creative speakers I got on clearance at Circuit City. Lots of old grunge rock and mid-90's alt. rock. I have a deep new appreciation for In Utero and Superunknown, even moreso than in high school when I listened to both albums constantly. I also have been perusing through various liner notes for no good reason other than the fact that the artwork is interesting.
I'm tired of Christmas specials already. I'm also tired of home shopping channels. Hell, I'm tired of TV in general. I could maybe watch House but everything else is shit.
My sister graduated with a bachelors degree this past Friday. I was happy for her but the turmoil we had to endure to get to and from the ceremony was bullshit. The weather stunk and my spiffy new suit didn't fare very well. I also missed a Christmas party with my friends for it. Oh well, not that big a deal.
Christmas shopping went alright this year. I didn't buy anything for anyone outside the family (unless you count a package of ramen or a dry erase board as valid gifts) so I kept the budget fairly reasonable. I still have these awesome Peanuts Chistmas cards I never used. It's a bit late to send them out now, so this is three years running without having used them. Go procrastination!
Sleepy time, going to go take a nap...
