Holiday weekend!
I hope everyone who is celebrating is having a wonderful Independence Day weekend! I've got my little antenna flag stuck in the back of my wheelchair, and decorated my flower beds with some little flags, too. I'll probably keep them up until Labor Day, because there aren't really any other national holidays until then. My part of Ohio has decided to to be rainy and soggy all weekend, so I am doing my grilling indoors. My family up in Cleveland probably has their own stuff going on, and it appears my sister still isn't speaking to me *Shrug* It's her deal, not mine. I sent her an e-mail along the lines of "Hey, I love you, and that doesn't change, but the rules have changed, and I won't put up with being insulted or verbally browbeaten over living my life by my own rules any longer. Once you get over that, you know you are welcome to call or visit anytime." Got no response, so I guess she's not over it. Talked to my brother briefly last weekend, but he was at work, so we had to keep it short. He said he'd call back the next day so we could talk longer and catch up, but hasn't been arsed to do so. I guess DNA is actually an acronym for Do Not Associate.
In more fun news, I am extremely excited about the idea of going on a vacation to visit two dear and favorite pals in the fall! I have lost some weight, so I went out to the Family Dollar store and got a bunch of new blouses and tops on sale, so I will have something to wear that does not look like a reject from the Goodwill bins. Some of my new tops are very friendly, and accentuate my white-meat parts. I suspect that I shall have to avoid bending over while I wear them, lest the "girls" come tumbling out! My neighbor works at Macy's, and told me to hold off on my swimsuit and coverup, because they will be going on clearance sale before vacation time, and she can also get me employee discount. I still have to get some new slacks, and have to measure myself first, because I have no idea what size I actually wear now. I have lost three sizes in the top, but sitting in the wheelchair makes it kind of hard to determine on the lower parts.
In other news, I have developed a girly-crush on Michael Shanks from Stargate SG-1. Because, as we all know, I am a fangurlie at heart, and he is...well, he's kind of a hottie. Yes, I will get over it, but for the moment, I simply cannot seem to stop staring at his very manly and buff arms when I watch re-runs on Scf-Fi. Sadly, he is very much happily married to the extremely gorgeous and girly-buff Lexa Doig, which leaves a poor ducky with nothing but fantasies and sighs, and a sincere hope that he has an older brother who looks a lot like him, is willing to relocate to Ohio or relocate me to Canada, and likes his women with only one (very attractive) leg. Is that too much to ask? *Nods* Yeah, probably.
