Songs in my head

There's been a number of songs in my head over the last little while.

This is one of them.

Regina Spektor, No One's Laughing at God

Probably an odd thing to post as follow-up to my last post.  But like I said there, I'm an agnostic.  And I don't really see this piece as a particularly religious song....I just like it.

One odd memory of this song I'll forever have, happend very recently after Sadie died when I was returning home from dropping off a friend of ours in the city.  It was some time alone, so I took the opportunity to crank up the car stereo.  This song was playing and both windows were down.

I'd just turned the first corner from our friends house and had pulled up to a stop light.  That's when I saw two men engaged in what I can only assume was some kind of road rage fight.

They both looked up at my car as the chorus kicked in.

It was a surreal moment.

I can still recall the looks on the faces of all the different people on the street.

For the briefest of moments I thought about intervening and perhaps trying to breakup the fight.  But traffic was heavy and the moment the light turned people were already honking.

So on I went.
