Boooooooooks!

If you don't like books, you don't exist. And stop reading my blog!!! :)

Yesterday Patrick and I went to Half Price Books. It was terribly exiting. I do not spend enough time there...although I probably spend more money than I ought to there. That place always reminds me just how much I love the smell of books.

"Smell is the most powerful trigger to the memory there is. A certain flower or a whiff of smoke can bring up experiences long forgotten. Books smell. Musty and, and, and, and rich. The knowledge gained from a computer, is, it ... it has no texture, no context. It's there and then it's gone. If it's to last, then the getting of knowledge should be tangible, it should be, um... smelly."

So, among other terribly exiting things, I got a book called Darcy's Story, which basically tells the story of Pride and Prejudice from Mr. Darcy's perspective.  I also got Anna Karenina and Mrs. Dalloway, both of which I have always wanted to read and never have.  I also found a neat book that is a study of passion in China and France (I think in terms of literature, as it was found in the literary criticism section, but you can never really tell).  Between those, the other books I bought, and the book that Mike loaned me (which I swear I'll read!!!) I'm going to be quite beelike.

So much joy!!!
