confessions of an accent ho, part deux

So watched the Torchwood premiere tonight...can anyone tell me if some/most of the actors are Welsh? 'Cause it took me a while to cut thru the accent. I've had almost no exposure to the Welsh accent so I wouldn't recognize it, but I don't normally have that hard a time with shows on BBCAmerica.

Anyhoo--loved Jack's line about not getting pregnant again. Sex seems to be an equal opportunity enterprise, always a good thing. Can't say I was really taken by any of the cast other than perhaps Ianto. Still, enjoyed it enough to give it a chance.

Then I watched David Tennant on Graham Norton and aside from nearly busting a gut, why isn't DT using his Scottish accent as Dr. Who? 'Cause srsly--the accent is a whole other reason to love DT. Is that a Dr. Who thing or is it a British tv thing? I know it happens in the US. Actors with strong regional accents are advised to lose it if they want much work. But come on--it's Scottish fcol and yes, even as a general accent ho I do have my favorites ;-)
