So, how was everyone's weekend? Mine was wonderful. I had a great time hanging out with friends; Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was incredibly funny; HP6 was just....wow.

These are in no real order. They're just in the order that I think of them. I apologize if I'm not very coherent at times; I just finished the book earlier and not everything is perfectly clear in my mind.

First of all, since I read some spoilers last week, I wasn't all that surprised that Snape was the HBP or that Dumbledore died. It didn't even really bother me that Dumbledore died, but I was completely shocked that it was Snape who killed him. I was hoping that Snape wouldn't turn out to be evil, but more morally ambiguous. Although I can't say that it wasn't wholly unanticipated.

The romance was handled superbly, in my opinion. Yes, even the whole Ron/Lavender fiasco. Yes, the H/G was underplayed, but that's what the book needed. Romance isn't the main theme of the books, so I was glad that JKR did things the way she did. Harry kissing Ginny after the Quidditch final was one of the best moments related to romance. I thought the next best was Tonks and Remus arguing in the hospital wing about whether or not they should get together.

After Bill's attack, I honestly thought Fleur wouldn't want to marry him anymore. With what we knew about Fleur before, it seemed to fit. It seems like she's a bit more complex that I originally gave her credit for.

McLaggen was a jerk. Slughorn (or whatever his name was) was unbearable. Malfoy, though not the same person we've seen before, was still great. For some reason, I especially loved it when he broke Harry's nose. ;)

Overall, it was a great book. I loved it. I can't compare it to the other books just yet. It'll probably be at least one more read-through, probably two, until I can do that. I'll probably start on that later tonight.

And now I'm off to catch up on my flist. :)
