Yesterday was absolutely ridiculous. Got a new bra. Went to Wendy's. Got a spicy chicken sandwich and a coke. I did not get fries because I never have enough room to eat them and they just go to waste. They gave me fries by accident and I felt pretty guilty about taking them. Then I only ate a couple of them and felt even more guilty for wasting good food. I am such a bad person.
Last night we went to Paper at Bill's Bar and it was terrible. I went a couple years ago when it was at Harper's Ferry and it was a lot of fun. However, Wendy claimed that only sophomore scenesters go to Paper now and that it sucks. But we got a bunch of girls together and we all went to dance.
Paper is 18+ and full of children who haven't yet shrugged off the aggressively scene look. The place was literally rife with attitude. And it was 7 dollars, rather pricey for this sort of thing, but I guess they have to charge a lot because no one is going to spend any money on alcohol. One perk was that you never had to try to get the bartender's attention because no one is old enough to drink. Including our friend Hilary. Hilary took a sip of Wendy's beer and immediately a guy came up to us and said "I saw you take a sip of her beer and you're both out. Come on, you're out...."
They got thrown out. I could not even believe what was happening. I kept hearing over and over again of so-and-so and so-and-so and so-and-so getting thrown out. Bill's Bar officially sucks. I suppose since they do allow underage people in they have to crack down on drinking but it was still pretty strange. Bad vibes, bad vibes!
Everything sort of erupted into chaos at that point. I went to the bathroom, wasted some time with some cute guy who started talking to me, then went back to the dance floor to find everyone and couldn't find anyone. I wandered around and finally found them.... outside. It was 12:30, I was wasted and had nothing to do but go home. Oh yeah, as I was leaving I ran into the cute guy's friend and I said I was leaving and he said "Oh don't leave without saying goodbye to Gabe" and then he shoved me toward cute guy and I ended up awkwardly pressing myself against him as he greeted a friend who had just arrived. It was bizarre to say the least and I got the fuck out of there.
The music sucked. The crowd sucked. The beer sucked. Paper sucks. If you want to have a good time, turn 21 and go to Hearthrob at Middlesex, 80's night at Common Ground or any night at Great Scott. I feel sorry for those poor underage kids who don't even know the meaning of a good dance night. I hope they learn, for their sake.
