It's been forever!

Well it's been forever so let's see what I've got!

Well I graduated college.  That's right- I'm now Darrick Adams, B.S.  Doesn't that have a nice ring to it?  The graduation ceremony was very nice; the keynote speaker was Senator Susan Collins (R- Maine) who must be the most liberal republican in the country (I don't care, I'm a fence-straddling moderate who refuses to declare a party) and the Student Government president Rachel also gave a good speech.

The night before, at the senior banquet, I was given an award which consisted of a personalized Celtics jersey (I love the Celtics) which had 09 for the number (for the year) and my nickname, "Ducky," on the back!  It was freakin' AMAZING!!!  None of my family could make it to the banquet so I had my girlfriend as my guest.  Oh yea, more on that later.

So for a graduation gift, my dad took me to... wait for it... A GEORGE STRAIT CONCERT!!!!!!  IT WAS FREAKIN' INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!  Blake shelton and Jullianne Hough were the warm-up acts, and Chuck Wicks performed earlier in the evening on a side stage.  It was so awesome it is barely even describable.  On a side note, I hope I spelled "describable" correctly.

I'm stlill looking for a job but an old friend who moved into my neighborhood said she could possibly get a lead for me.  I actually have two old friends who have moved into my neighborhood, one on my street and one right around the corner.  I can see both their houses from my own.

So that brings me back to something I mentioned earlier:  I do, indeed have a girlfriend now.  I was single for about 3 1/2 years before that, which is very ironic because that was how long I was not single immediately before that.  Whoever believes in numerology can probably have a field day with that one.  Anyhoo, her name is April and she is realy nice and she lives in Florida (we met in college) so that means we have to do a lot of the long distance thing.  I got her a couple cute stuffed animals for the next time I see her, though:  a manatee and a whale shark.  It sounds weird because I'm unemployed, but I found them at the Dollar Tree so even though I'm close to broke it was OK (LOL).  I can talk to her on the phone and on Facebook, though.

I really can't wait to get on my own feet career-wise and get my own place and stuff.  It will be really cool.  Well, that's all for now.  It seems like nobody goes on here as much as they used to, but that's OK cuz that means people are out enjoying our glorious enviromnent, and environment which is safer because George W. Buffoon is out of office.  So enjoy it and then say hi when ya can!
