The Whole Susan Boyle Thing/Finals shtuff.
Wow, so apparently I was one of the last people to see Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent.
I mean, I know tons of opera students through Lesley and yeah, quite a few of them are on the heavy side, and quite a few aren't stop-in-your tracks gorgeous, so it wasn't her appearance that had me iffy... but then again, I wasn't there... maybe if I had been there as opposed to learning that she is amazing before seeing the video, I would've been swayed by a cultural prejudice.
What amazes me about her though is the fact that she's never been on a date or anything like that. I mean, I know she's awfully plain looking, but with a personality like that I would've thought someone would come along.
Anywho, I'm very very happy for her, and the video of her singing makes my heart soar, it's so inspirational... it's just like a real life reminder that looks really aren't everything. That's my two cents.
FINALS! I had my Arts One Final today... it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be (although I only started studying for it last night) but it was far from easy. Now I just hang out over the weekend and do my Film Studies final on Monday and I'm outta here. lol. It sucks that I'm leaving just as it's becoming stunning outside here. Oh well. So from here on out it's easy street, aside from packing and perhaps some last minute studying. I can't believe it's already over.
And of course, it hasn't really sunk in that I'm getting that nasty ass proceedure when I get back, pretty much right away, and then I've got to get a food handler's permit and a job... *le sigh* I won't think about that now though.
