Patrick hates to admit it, and if Pete people were to ask him he would deny it and laugh it off in the way that's so obviously fake it almost sounds genuine, but he is totally jealous of Pete Wentz. Not because he has millions of girls screaming after him everywhere he goes (Patrick likes to hear thank you very much) and not because he can fit into girl jeans and actually look good in them (Patrick likes the fact he knows he won't walk down the street and see girls thinking they have the same pair at home). It's because Pete has met the Jonas Brothers.
Patrick is fully aware he sounds like a 13 year old girl there, especially with that 'totally' he wasn't aware he'd thought at the time.
Maybe he should be more specific, not just that Pete met the Jonas Brothers, plural, that he met one very specific Jonas Brother.
As previously mentioned Patrick will deny this at all costs when Pete people jump around madly and won't shut up ask him about it. He's not entirely sure why he denies it, he's pretty sure that Pete everyone knows he's gay, the fact he'd been caught making out with Gerard had kinda blown his cover there.
It's probably the fact that not only does it make him feel like a teenage girl but also that it feels that teensy bit wrong. The kind of wrong where you're found kissing in some remote corner of the church. Or finding out that Andy had actually had sex while watching Finding Nemo... Patrick never really understood that.
He's pretty sure it's because of the whole 'good Christian boys, virgins till marriage, we're all pure and Disney' thing. Patrick isn't sure he believes in a God, if he did he's pretty sure that any God wouldn't believe in him after he'd broken the 'don't be gay' rule so many times in the past. He also has nothing against crushing on a Disney character someone in a TV show or movie, Pete everyone says that's totally normal and he believes him them.
Overall you could say this whole thing is confusing him and he's found in the past that if something confuses him then ignoring it normally works unless it's Pete. If that fails then shoving it into a box and tying the lid with chains and welding them shut should do it he only wishes he could do that to Pete sometimes.
He's found recently that it's become easier to ignore this Jonas problem, he's even given it an official name, not that he'd admit that he's really hoping this means it will disappear and he'll never have to think about the whole thing again.
It appears that Pete God has other plans.
It's fairly normal for Pete to drag Patrick the band to a nearby Starbucks early in the morning because he can't sleep, or wants a coffee or once because the pretty fairy people told him to. Patrick really hopes that Pete had been joking but was never too sure.
So when Patrick found himself sat at a table in Starbucks listen to Pete ramble on about some new thing for Clandestine Industries and asking how Patrick thought Hemmingway would look in a purple glitter jacket he finds nothing out of the ordinary. He kind of wishes Pete would just go ahead and design that damn jacket after all this time of talking about it but has the feeling this will never happen.
As was normal he found his mind wandering as his head nodded and he replied in a way he hoped sounded vague but interested enough for Pete to notice he didn't have 100% of Patrick's attention and before he knew it he was being dragged to his feet as Pete jumped up to head out for some new adventure.
Unfortunately Pete hadn't noticed the man walking in the other direction. Which Patrick found rather strange considering he was taller than both of them.
That's how he finds himself face to face with the oldest Jonas.
Patrick thinks that if there is a God then he must have fun making him squirm or something.
