Summary: Julia makes two new acquaintances after hours in the medical school. One of them wants to kill her.
Author’s Notes: Script format. The first three pages of the video serial tierfal and I are planning to make over the summer. If anyone’s curious, she plays Julia, and I play the other speaking character.

INT. LAB ROOM - EARLY EVENING

A laboratory/classroom in a medical school. Most of the
students have left; only one remains to finish writing
something up, JULIA REED. There’s a sudden dull thumping
from another room, which makes her glance up sharply, and
when it’s repeated, she goes cautiously to investigate.

She follows the thumping into a darker section of the
building, ending up in front of a large industrial freezer.
The noises have stopped, and she’s listening closely when
something suddenly appears behind her. She screams and spins
around to see a GIRL IN BLACK, about her age.

GIRL IN BLACK
               (urgently)
          What?

JULIA
          Holy shit!

GIRL IN BLACK
          What is it?

JULIA
          You scared the shit out of me,
          that’s what! What are you doing
          here, anyway? You nearly gave me a
          heart attack.

GIRL IN BLACK
          Oh. Well, guess it’s not you, then.

JULIA
          What’s not me?

GIRL IN BLACK
               (trying to get rid of her)
          Sorry for scaring you; you can go
          away now.

JULIA
          I’m not going away until you tell
          me who the hell you are and what
          you’re doing here.

GIRL IN BLACK
          What are you doing here?

JULIA
          I heard a noise. Like a thumping. I
          think it was coming from inside
          there.

She points to the freezer. The GIRL IN BLACK immediately
moves to open it.

JULIA
               (trying to stop her)
          What are you doing?! Don’t open it!

GIRL IN BLACK
          Why, what’s inside?

JULIA
          Dead bodies! It’s where we keep the
          corpses for lab dissection!
          Whatever’s making that noise
          shouldn’t be in there!

GIRL IN BLACK
          Well, then we’d better find out
          what it is. You don’t have to stay.

Ignoring JULIA’s protests, she yanks the door open. A
reanimated corpse roars at them from inside, and the GIRL IN
BLACK hastily slams the door.

GIRL IN BLACK
          Oops!

JULIA
          Jesus Christ!

GIRL IN BLACK
          Not quite, but it’s back from the
          dead, so you’re one for two.

JULIA
          Shut up; it’s not back from the
          dead. It’s - it’s someone playing a
          joke or something.

GIRL IN BLACK
          Go on, then; open the door up and
          tell him off.

JULIA
          You knew this was going to happen.
          This is what you were looking for.
          Are you C.S.I. or something?

GIRL IN BLACK
          Not in the slightest. I am here to
          figure out what’s going on, though.
          (catches the door, which has
          started to open again; slams and
          locks it) Do you have any idea
          where this could’ve started?

JULIA
          I only heard the banging start a
          few minutes ago. But if that was
          really one of the corpses- wait.
          That isn’t the only freezer. What
          if it’s happening to other bodies?
          What if they get out?

Footsteps are heard from a nearby corridor.

GIRL IN BLACK
          Maybe that’s the janitors.

Zombie roars are heard.

GIRL IN BLACK
          Maybe they’re really angry
          janitors.

JULIA
          Maybe we should run for our fucking
          lives.

GIRL IN BLACK
          Maybe... all right, yeah.

They run.
