Cats are better than an electric blanket!
Our 1rst hard freeze tonight- I picked all the satsumas, only picked the grapefruit furtherest out on the limb (that tree is very dense after it got shortened by last years severe weather. Since some @#$@!!$%!! stole my pineapples I did not have them to worry about. Cut a small hole in the end of a styrofam cooler & put it in the big empty doghouse so whatever stray critter holes up in there occasionally will have something warmer to get into (a cooler in a plastic box with a hole works great for feral kitties). The doghouse has some new claw scratches & something bit it in a couple of places- not a big mouth but VERY long pair of fangs! At my old house on nights like this I'd have a carport full of birds(the doves liked to settle on the top step- a lot of heat leaked out under the door).
My mom adopted a cute mutt from the SPCA- they say it is 8 months old & not going to grow much, but judging by the HUGE paws I think someone is lying...
Hhmmmmm, I wanna hot chocolate with a generous dollop of amaretto & irish cream.....
