it's raining it's pouring...

Our 30% chance of rain has turned into a longterm downpour. When I got back from the grocery this morning the pond out front was down 4 inches. It started raining shortly after, & when I looked out front a couple of hours later it was overflowing (its edges are higher than the surrounding area, so it was just rain, no runoff). I quick dash to the front door showed 3inches of water on the porch & rising fast, the carport looked like a creek. I quickly grabbed sandbags & blocked the water from pouring into the porch, then went out & cleared my usually dry creakbed that I built for better drainage.It rained so hard that a lot of leaves & pinestraw were partially blocking it, I got it cleared & the water flowed much better. It is now 10 at night, still pouring, it has been nonstop & no sign of easing. The tv says to expect 2 more inches- we needed rain, but we did not need it all at once!
  Shan is doing really well, no sneezes at all today. Here is my happy girl-



edit: we are expected to get another 2-4 inches today- naturally I was supposed to go sailing this afternoon-
