bad, no good, rotten day

Woke up sore & with sinus headache, not too surprising since there have been 3 major fires in my area in 3 days, so I'm sick of smoky air.
Well, Shan made it a week with no green snot (with me rinsing her sinuses 2x daily with saline, you can imagine how well that goes over), then this morning green again. Drat! then after I cleaned her litterbox I looked over- blood running out of her right nostril. Cue me panicked, called my favorite vet (who is unfortunately at the end of the county, 45 minute one way drive with NO traffic) they agree to work me in, so bring her straight on. Jumped in car with Shan (blood had stopped by now) backed out of driveway, put it in gear & something felt off as we drove away. Stopped car, found big bolt in front tire, off to tire shop (opposite direction from vet unfortunately). made it to tire place, called vet while they went to work on the tire, vet was nice & told me to just come when I got finished there. Sooo, car finished, Shan & I get to the vet an hour after our appointment, Doc S gave her a thorough going over (& everyone raved about how friendly & outgoing she is). As I suspected, vet thinks her sinus problems won't resolve until the eye socket is completely cleared out, eyelid & everything, & he will be able to tell for certain then if there is any malformation or splintering of any bones. Soooo, she is scheduled for surgery the 22nd. In the meantime, saline nose drops 3x daily, antibiotic eyedrops in the socket 3x daily (you can imagine how much fun getting those accomplished is going to be), continuing lysine in food. She is in great humor, I'm wiped out. I think we are both due a run of good luck!
Her she is enjoying a ride (I'm making her a carseat)
