general ramblings
This morning I walked out the door to find a heck of a lot of fur in the front yard- at first I thought an owl had caught a rabbit, but on closer inspection I found white & beige fur & sort of a brindle, so I'm guessing neighborhood cats have realized bigblackferal is gone for good & are arguing over who owns my front yard. I've had a sudden increase in squirrels....
Shan is better today- she had a relapse of respiratory problems & on new meds, but Friday evening & Saturday her gut rebelled & I had to skip her Saturday dose, while stuffing yogurt, miso, & human probiotics in her every couple of hours. It worked, she had her Sunday dose on schedule, some looseness today but only 1 movement, so I'm continuing to give her gut critters 'til the cat probiotics (different gut bugs)I ordered show up (tried locally, no luck). Some encouraging news, her right ear has begun reacting to some noises when they are loud enough. It is very little, but it is an improvement so I am thrilled! First saw it when a friend brought a guitar he bought for $10 at the Salvation Army shop (really sweet sounding instrument). Shan was dozing in a friend's lap, he started playing the guitar, her right ear started twitching, then she opened her eyes, scrunched up her nose & made a face. He stopped playing, we watched her close her eyes & get dozey again, then he played again. Same thing happened! I had been testing her ears daily with different pitches, this was the first time there was any movement from one other than emotion.
