Yes We Did!!!! We Finally Did It!

Right now I am sitting listening to Ralph Nader speak, but first I have to comment on the election because I am so behind.

That goes without saying that never have I been so happy and so proud after an election. I have been very bitter and lost faith in pretty everything about America. Now I can say something. I was at the Loyolan watching the results, we all said that Obama pretty much got it locked but once the projection came in that Obama won, it was such a surreal moment, that something I never I would see finally happened. It was unbelievable, especially watching in awe as people celebrated in Grant Park. It was such an amazing sight that I was nearly brought to tears that so over 200,000 people were ecstatic (include around the nation and the world) about electing a president, it got me excited about politics and proud that Americans came together and voting (even if they voted for McCain). It was awesome thought that Barack Obama, our president elect brought so many people together. That's what a president should do and I am so thrilled that he did long before getting elected but reaching out to people during his campaign.

I know America will not be fixed overnight but I have that we will have the tools to get out the mess that we got for the past 8 years. The fact that someone is saying, "I am ready for the challenge, I want to make things better and change the way things have going because they weren't in our best interest." That alone is enough to be hope for another day. The fact that lived, witnessed and participated in this historic moment, while it was long overdue, it's truly an amazing to watch history unfold.

Aside from the amazingly epic election, I am bit disappointed in California for Prop 8 and actually 3, get your head of the hole like an ostrich and see is same sex marriage really a big deal in the sense that it threatened everything we stood. California, you got it wrong *again* It's more than marriage, marriage has such a fiduciary entrenchment especially in the hospital setting that no one should ever be denied, I hope California, you will come around.
