Update on life...
Family
Dad's in Poland right now. Saturday I had to take dad to the airport (first time I've driven there and back), and it looks like things went well. He'll be back this coming Saturday, but until then, that means I'm basically the head honcho around the house. We shall see how that goes. Dad secretly bought himself a new digicam (better than my old cam, but not nearly as good as bro's D50), which means I'll have a camera I get to take to rennie events n' stuff again. w00t!
School
I hate college. I hate exams. I hate studying for exams. I want out already. I want passing grades and to get the heck out of this stupid school! Argh...
Highbeam (aka, my car)
So my baby's in the shop this weekend. On Thursday, I was ready to go to class but my car's engine wouldn't turn over. So I've had to take our spare car since. Friday morning we took him to the shop. We were surprised that he managed to drive all the way there, then stalled in the parking lot. Saturday morning the shop called saying that my car had worked just fine and that they couldn't find anything wrong, but decided they'd keep it until Monday to check it again. We gave them the ok to give him a complete overhaul since he just hit 100,000 miles the other day :D I got pics too, LOL! I can't wait to have my car back. The minivan is great for speed (believe it or not, that car has far better acceleration than my Jeep...), but I'd prefer drivin' my Jeep :3
Work?
Tomorrow I start hounding all the places I've been applying to for a winter job. If I can't get one, I'm screwed... I need the money badly. If I can't get something soon, things could get really difficult in terms of the planned FL trip...also I likely won't be able to buy my new garb fabric this winter T_T Being a student with only 2 jobs (SLRF, and a job that lasted 2 months back in '02) sucks, cuz employers don't think I remotely qualify for anything, regardless what I'm studying...*sigh*
Christmas
So I've been delayed by homework in being able to get pressy's out to friends. I'm aiming to have them sent out by this weekend at the latest.
I'm making mom a new necklace for her present, I'm trying to find a Mazda RX-8 model car for bro, and I bought dad an F-15E model plane kit in 1:48 scale that he'll be able to build and paint :) I know he used to love model train kits growing up, and now he's a major aircraft geek, so mom, bro and I are splitting the costs of this present for him. I think he'll really enjoy it, especially after what he's going to have to deal with once he gets back from Poland *worry*. Poor guy...we can still use your prayers and support to get him through this hard time.
Because I've seen a few other people make these, here's my wishlist :) Of course, there's a 99.99% chance I won't get any of this stuff, but here's what I ideally would like :D
