So, it's my second to last day at work. I was supposed to stay through Friday, but as I work with some of the nicest people ever, they're letting me change my big metrics meeting to tomorrow and I'll be heading to the cape on Friday instead of Saturday! My last week has gone fairly well. Today I put together all of my metrics in BEAUTIFUL binders and everyone is highly impressed. I'm also writing a personal letter for NCLD's direct mail letter that they use to gain interest in their organization and raise money. My article for their Monthly LD News letter is released this Monday. The other two interns left and I like it more with only me here. Some strange new boy asked me if I wanted to go out with him and some friend for lunch and I said I had plans. This was 85% true as I like to use lunch as my "Dana Time" and go to the park and read and people watch. I've been doing a lot of London reading in the park lately and am feeling moderately more calm about heading to Europe for four months. I'm hoping this calm last till at least next Wednesday, but I'm sure I'll start having minor feelings of panic again any day now.
On my way to work this morning, just about two blocks from my apt., some film crew was setting up for a movie with Richard Gere called "The Hoax". It takes place in the seventies (I research online today)they must have had between 20-30 cars from the seventies parked and set up for the filming. I found it fairly exciting, I felt like I was walking around in some strange vortex of different decades. They had about 10 old police cars too. On my way home (in just about an hour) I'm going to have to take a detour along the side of Washington Square park rather than my normal direct rout in which I strut through the park pretending I'm someone famous so that I can scope out the filming. I always enjoy the random film stalking in NYC. OOH.
REASONS I LOVE NYC:
-Scoping out film screws and catching the making of movies like Spiderman, As Good as It Gets, Angels in America, Sex and the City and so many more. Fond fond memories of going to school in Greenwich Village.
Well, I'm out of here in about 10 minutes. I think I'm going to get frost bitten in this office if I must stay any longer. Tomorrow is my last day! I'm quite excited, but I will definitely miss the people I work with. My excitement for the Cape and seeing Sam definitely rules out any sad feelings for leaving work (and there aren't many to being with anyway). mmm It's off to the humid city streets for this girl.
