Last night I moved back home after a wonderful week of living on the Upper East Side. I never would have imagined that I'd enjoy it up there so much. Without a doubt I still prefer my Greenwich Village, but the luxury of living on my own in NYC was a dream. The cats drove me slightly nuts as they were hyperactive in comparison to my sweets, Fufer and Percy. Lucy had an eye infection so I had to put ointment in her ears twice a day and Linus is just fat and pees over the side of litter box, so it was a bit troublesome taking care of them at times. They also seemed to enjoy fighting and playing with loud toys just in time to disrupt my near deep and peaceful sleep.

I had my EI friends over quite often as I didn't want to be alone in the apt all week. Ambar and I went to see Howie Day Wednesday and then she stayed over. Thankfully that night (rather than a night when I was alone in the apt) a cockroach got in and attacked me. I nearly fainted when it crawled under my foot, but Ambar was there to save the day. After unbelievably loud screaming, she killed it. (FYI: Howie was great! Definitely quite the character and possibly a little cracked out. I think he was drinking while singing. I was amused.) Friday Jenna, barn and I had a bit of a girl's night with degrassi and all. Caught up on everything. We've each changed in our own ways since senior year, but even with our drastic differences we still seem to spill everything eventually. Jenna finally told Ambar all of her drama, and Ambar was moderately shocked to say the least. Sometimes I wonder if Ambar holds back on us, she claims there is nothing going on. Yet, when we're alone she tells me bit and pieces of things that there might be more to. Oh my dear Barn, one day she'll spill it all to jen jen and me. But all in all, even with our different opinions and life styles it was great to see them. The two of them and Alex are about it for the people I really need to see when I'm home. Although maybe someday I'll get it together to see all of the other crazies I graduated with.

Saturday I slept late and bummed out with Jenna. Later I saw my dearest guy friend from high school Alex. How I love Alex, sweetest guy ever! I really don't know how he puts up with Jenna, Ambar and me though. We make him watch the chickiest chick flicks ever. I bought DVDs at Best Buy; 9.99 DVDs, currently my favorite activity. I've now own Serendipity, Reservoir Dogs, High Fidelity and Breakfast at Tiffany's. That night Jenna and I dragged Alex to see Must Love Dogs. I've fallen madly in love with John Cusack. Poor Alex left at about 2:30am and I haven't talked to him since so I should call and make sure he got home alright. hmm.

Sunday was the day of the YANKEES game. Considering that I never go to games, the chances that I ended up going to such an amazing game were pretty low. Amazing is the only way to describe this game though. 4 hours 20 minutes, 11 innings, Yanks win 8-7 I believe. Tino played first and I was Mariano pitch. I ate mint chocolate dippin dots with Arianna. It was truly the most fantastic day of my summer. It was nice seeing Arianna and her mom, Millie, it had been way to long. I still remember the days of 6 year old dane and ari play under the table and planning ways to steal "bubble-gum medicine" from the doctor. Now Arianna is nearly engaged, can drive and even drove my mom and I back to the city. Times have changed.

My last two nights uptown were spent eating lots of chocolate ice cream and watching sappy romantic comedies. I loved it. Now I'm home. I slept very well last night, minus the fact that I didn't get in bed till after 1. Tonight I plan on getting to bed early. The lack of sleep is starting to get to me and I think it's leading to me stressing out about life and in particular going abroad. The mixed feelings about living in another country for 4 months (not long in comparison to others, but it's big for me) and not being at Wheaton where I feel so at home is getting me a bit crazy. I was sitting here at work this morning looking at webshots and realizing that that part of my life, Gebbie 203 and sophomore year are completely over. Not that I wasn't aware of this before, but it really just set in for me today. All of those moments are over and now I'm a lot closer to finishing my sheltered life at Wheaton and having to figure out what I'm going to do with my life. It's all exciting and terrifying. Hopefully once I get some sleep I'll cool out and sit back and see things from the positive angle I've been seeing things from this summer. London will be amazing and I still have at least one full year at Wheaton with everyone I've grown to care about. As my Mizz said, our party throwing can only get better! 'tis true, we just need a place like Geb 203 mmm. Oh Geb, oh 203, oh 203 A. It will never be quite the same, but at least I know I had it once! And yes, bigger and better things to come I'm sure. LONDON with Laura and so much fun. I'm simply getting Wheaton sick and missing my friends. I look forward to when we're all back on the Wheaton campus together again (as seniors, eek).

T-9 days till work is over and I'm heading to the Cape for a bit of a long weekend. Should be good. Then serious packing for London begins.
