Big Brother: You've got SOME NERVE.
I'm doing this paper on 1984 (the book silly!), and I have to compare it to some kind of totalitatian government. I chose Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple. Have no idea HOW I am going to commpare the two, but I will. I have 69 words already (out of 1,333). But before I finish up, I have something I need to say:
Big Brother sucks. He is not just a poster here and there, he is REAL. Real, I tell you. Don't believe me? Check your pay-checks. Notice something missing? About a fifth of your money, right. Yes. Our govenment is made up of money hungry bastards.
So now, why is it that no person thinks for themselves anymore? Again, it is because of the government's grip on the neck of our media. If I may use Ms. Thorton's example: What the hell was going on while Monica came out and told the us that she was "having relations" with the President?! No one knows. Because they were to sucked up into that FIASCO. We believe whatever the news tells us because.... *survey says* its entertaining. We've come together like one massive -stupid- brain (with two sides - mind you *left and right*). And I HATE it.
I'm not saying our government is horrible. It pretty much sucks, but we as a generation much smater and much more active than the others has to turn somethings around. NOW. Or we will soon be talking in Newspeak and thinking about not thinking about rebelling.
