No Limits

After all this time tracking Gale Harold's accident and recovery, I finally came back to LJ apropos of Renshaw's invitation to comment on the movie "Milk" and found all the old No Limits posts on my journal. It made me curious to see if the people on No Limits were acting like human beings about Gale's accident, and I guess not. I looked on one ( Read more... )

Wow. Look who's in the house..
Glad to see you, Duc. Can we assume you'll check in here regularly, periodically, once in a while will you try to giveone little thought to
me, knowing you think of me, once in a while...
I was afraid to begin a reasonable discussion of gale's accident here
because I was afraid "crazies" would show up and we don't need any more
of that.
I hope you'll hang out and keep everybody's head straight. It's not a good
time for us.

I disagree Sarah, about 'crazies' showing up for a reasonable discussion of Gale's accident. All of the people in my friends list have shown nothing but concern for Gale's welfare, and shown loving support for him. Regardless of what caused the accident, and it really doesn't matter what, our only thought has been for his recovery, because we all love him. This is a rainbow world where Gale is king and we are very loyal and loving subjects. There are no 'crazies' here, although we might all be a little obsessed.
However, if someone came in and 'dissed' our king, we might all turn into ravening beasts and devour them.
And, I think our heads are pretty straight.

One last thing, Duc, good manners dictate that you should answer every commenter, even if it's just a "Thank you for commenting."

My dear,
Apparently, I stumbled onto some ongoing discussion between you and
Duc. With some poisonous imput from our old friend Randy from NL.
I don't know anything about Gale's injuries specifically. I worry
about him all the time. I am a devoted fan and a passionate one
I have known you and Duc for a long time and know how much respect
and devotion both of you has for Gale, each in your own way.
So what the fuck is going on here? Fairly reasonable people having
at each other? Sure, Duc is sometimes too insistent in his commitment,
you a bit over the top about your "king" but why are two good people
canabalizing each other?/
Will someone please explain? And, my dear Critic, since when does
good manners require we answer every comment? I'm supposed to
respond to Randy and Miss Whatshername from the Hors Boards?
Yeah. Right...
I think this is a good time to rally against Randy whose has
wrought devestation in the fandom long enough. Someone should find
Delta s nd organize a campagn to boycott NL unless his posts are
banned.

I'm not sure how a conversation ever ends if somebody doesn't stop talking. Note: I said "thank you for commenting" above and it still elicited a reply. Now I'm apparently expected to reply to the reply, if only to say "thank you for commenting" again. No offense to anybody, but I posted something here and if you reply to it, I think it's game, set and match. Whatever you replied is your position. If I take serious issue with it, I might reply further. If it's a point I hadn't thought of, I might say so. But if it's so opposite as to be unanswerable, or if it's in agreement, why can't I just let it stand?

Things at NL are the way the admin there wants them, and I already boycott it. Haven't been there in ages. They can stew in their own juice.

Who am I fighting with here, by the way? Because I think I missed it. I'm not in any squabble here that I know of.
