I was in Pt. Reyes Station yesterday with Diana, and ran into Mike and Melida. We talked about getting together again with you for another adventure. Sounds good to me!
In Pt Reyes, D. & I had gone to see the Box Show (Route One Gallery) that she had a piece in. We go every year. I did some drawings of a few of them, including hers, which is the polkadot face with the branches coming out the top, and a rose garland around the head. One I liked quite a lot was a box that was like a mini gallery with small paintings inside about the size of match books. A Calder mobile hung from the ceiling, and the box had a mirrored floor. It wasn't spectacular especially, but I kept returning to look at it. In the center of the floor was a sort of stone stele with some indecipherable tiny writing. A curious, well made piece that rang some kind of bell in me I guess. Anyway...
I recall seeing Diana's piece on Instagram. It's wonderful. I think I gave her entry the proverbial "heart" that annoys me so much, but I still use it.
Mike has sort of disappeared from an online presence. How cosmic to run into those two at Pr. Reyes. Very cool. Ky and I were just there a month ago, it was serenely quiet. I loved it. I do recall walking around a gallery there, kind of hidden away. By the looks of your drawing here, it was the same place.
A new Crocker exhibit opens at this month's end - Another World - from the Transcendental Painting Group. It could be interesting. Of course, I'm always up to visit the de Young.
