Conditions at Mammoth this weekend were spectacular: light snow dustings all day interspersed with sunshine and clouds.  Just enough powder... everywhere.  Cornice was getting the crap blasted out of it by the avalanche crews.  And once it opened, it was absolute sugar.

I went snowboarding this weekend.  Given the crappy start the California resorts have gotten off to this season, I wasn't really expecting much.  Surprisingly, Mammoth Mountain actually has quite a bit of snow on it.
