One Quarter of 2008

My stuff is home.  The clean-up process now begins.  Now it's time to unpack (so that I can re-pack).  After sleeping away my entire Sunday, I awaken to discover that--can it be?--something is different.  It's over.  It's finally over.  With that, I can call one full quarter of my year wrapped up.

First... if you ever have serious car trouble like that on the playa, see if folks in camp Skynyrd in gigsville are bored enough to want to work on it. so many of them spend their days (and nights) just sitting around drinking beer and watching the nuttiness of the playa go by after having spent a week or more trying to get vehicles to go 200+ mph out at Bonneville, that trying to get a vehicle to chug along at 5 mph for awhile could easily be a cute afternoon project for them.

second... seriously... working long days in the desert is a horrible way to spend your time much less your vacation, so think about it

hm. we should chat. you and me should be breakfast buddies. maybe once a week at least if i can figure out how to get to your side of the bay easily.

but re: DPW, they had me at "symptoms of heat exhaustion":

* irritability
dizziness
muscle cramps
[...]
** confusion and poor decision-making

* not to be confused with regular DPW irritability
** not to be mistaken for regular DPW confusion and poor decision-making

i'm not going to submit since it's the 2008 form. but i was looking it over and it's just silly how many of these damn boxes i can check off. crane operator? now THERE'S one i hadn't considered before. this isn't a questionaire. it's a burner-merit-badge checklist!
