I'm helping a few friends on stage this weekend.  The success of Cirque Berzerk's Beneath for the past two weekends has been inspiring.  However, this show caters to a bit of a different crowd.  This is a new rock 'n' roll circus show: a mythical journey undertaken by Mr. Robb (the last happy clown on earth) who's trying to survive life's bumpier roads.

The acts include Cirque du Soleil veteran Eric Newton (Quidam), Australian ballet and aerial tissue artist Rachel Bowman, the Colorado-based Storytyme, fire gurus Machina Candeo, and the very crowd-pleasing Two Men with Three Balls (a juggling act like no other).  If that sounds interesting to you, pick up tickets from the Ford Amphitheatre.  Tickets are very reasonable and proceeds go to benefit phys ed programs for nine schools in LAUSD.

My mother always used to worry that I'd run off to join the circus some day.  In fact, she actively prevented me from doing so in high school.  If she only knew.  I'm closer than she might think.
