Where on Earth is George Sandiego?
In a few hours I hop over to a different section of the United States of America. Although I'm not there evaluating a new potential home, this trip does mark the start of my travel season for exactly that purpose. Today I will be in the most populous city of this particular state.
This Crossroads of the West has recently developed a strong outdoor recreation tourism industry.

Six years ago this city received tourists, athletes, and diplomats from around the globe when it firmly established its world notariety. I'm hoping for a small taste of that.
The city proper boasts a mere population circa one million. However, the region has acheived a significant amount of urban sprawl. Including the adjacent metropolitan areas boots population count to double that figure. The city layout is incredibly precise and was one of the first true grid designs in America. Most streets run true north-south or east-west. Addresses are coordinates within the system. One hundred units are equal to 1/8th of a mile, or approximately 200m--which corresponds to the length of blocks in the downtown area. Some streets have generic names like "State Street" but are also known as 100 East (for example). Many streets have honorary names like Martin Luther King or Cesar Chavez, but these names only appear on street signs and cannot be used as postal addresses.
This city also hosts portions of an annual independent film festival. Featured on a popular HBO series, you can probably guess why I'm here if you watched that episode. It's not the free Sidekicks, two-dude threesomes, or celebrity sightings. No. I'm here for something I love much much more than that.
And if you still don't have it yet, think...
"You're not Jesus. You're Bob!"
