Packed, stacked, and racked
Everything, with one small exception, is ready to go. In about a quarter of the time it took from deciding to go to having major bases covered (in other words, half a day), I'm fully packed. In a trend-bucking surprise turnaround, my 5th burn may turn out to be my lowest maint. However, something tells me that trend won't last since plans for '08 are already in progress.
I also know my dances well and am pretty confident I can do them without following a lead. Aside from "Konichiwa, bitches!", I have effectively learned *zero* Japanese. I will get far more out of this trip if I start cramming now. I suppose a guidebook might do me well too. But then again, I also suppose the traveling pods do have their benefits.
The one still pending item? I need to purchase a burner/playa-proof notebook and pen of some kind. I'm thinking moleskin and space pen. But I'll be sad if an alcohol spill wipes out all my notes. Maybe those clever Japanese will have something I can use.
