I've been toying with the idea of no longer doing cardio work at the gym. Now before you all yell at me telling me how important cardio is to loosing weight and staying healthy, let me finish. I am thinking about stopping cardio at the gym, but continuing it at home like I used to. I seemed to loose way more weight when it was just me outside jogging on my own, than when I have been using a machine. I know the whole deal that I have to keep my heart rate in a certain range so that I can burn calories from fat and not from muscle, but I can't help but think that those machines at the gym are all a kind of a crutch that I should not be using. Yes the machines allow me to keep track of my heart rate, which is very important, but I also think that they make me do less work since as you push one foot down the other is being pushed up because of how it is built. This is the thought that's been on my mine recently, what's better; to be able to monitor my heart rate easily, or go back to doing what I know for a fact has worked in the past?
