Two thumbs up for probiotics.

'... making probiotics a fantastic therapy for reducing leaky gut.' You don't often read the word 'fantastic' in medical review papers.

It makes sense that leaky gut may not be cured by ketogensis, although it might improve symptoms, but this could be because you're feeling better in every other way, or should be feeling better. If you've washed gut microbes away by years of acidic drinks no amount of low carb/ high fat will replace them. They multiply in the gut, kefir grains apparently multiply after a few weeks of use, which must be odd (THEY'RE ALIVE!) I'm sticking with my supermarket kefir for now, out of laziness (the Dead Kennedys named an album 'Give Me Convenience or GIve Me Death'). It's only been four days but it seems to be making a difference, I'm walking a bit more fluidly after taking it. It's hard to say how it's making any other difference, yesterday after taking it I made custard (proper custard, with egg yolks and a mix that can't go hotter than 84c) and the day before I finally cleared my sewer. Man it was a relief when that shitty water dropped and it all gurgled down the sewer pipe. The pipe's as big as my head, it must have been a football sized clump of toilet roll to block it. I've plunged it three times now with a plumbers rod and it's gotten the water moving but it seems just moved the blockage a bit, which is in the connecting pipe between my pipes and the main sewer behind my house. The trick was to run all the taps while plunging it, before I was just emptying buckets of water down the sewer opening in my garden. I saved myself at least a grand doing it myself, and the few days wait for a plumber to come out, and having to presuade them not to try and overcharge me ('you don't have to put on a spacesuit and send down the radio controlled submersible'). It's better if you can do these things yourself as well, you've learned something, hopefully not broken anything irreplacably, and get a feeling of satisfaction. Anyway, I digress. Kefir, milk or water based, apparently has more probiotics than the expensive supplements that are advertised everywhere, and apparently one of the best prebiotics is the humble apple. I haven't felt any warmer in the past few days, which would be nice. Damn you Wim Hof, damn you...
