did you?
i drove around austin today, looking for a polling place to catch the last day of early voting. the first three locations i stopped at (FAC on the UT campus, a randalls, highland mall) all had a wait of easily an hour or more. i ended up waiting in line for about fifteen minutes at the shriner's hall near anderson lane. i may not have wanted to stand on line forever but the fact that those lines were there to begin with? very, very encouraging.
i voted, got my primary polling card and plan on hitting the caucus voting tuesday night. if you're unfamiliar with the texas two step:
the primaries determine 2/3 of the delegates, and the caucus determines the other 1/3.
most polling places are open til 7PM tonight if you want to beat the crowd. i hope that these early voting lines mean that there will be long, long lines on tuesday. and that's a very, very good thing.
